My name is Sasha, I’m a third year costume design student at London College of Fashion.

I was drawn to costume design as a discipline as I love the way it enables me to escape from reality, exploring complex narrative and changing relationships through my work.

My work exists in a fantastical, ethereal world, often drawing from past decades to create modern innovations. Starting with historical patterns, adapting them to create contemporary pieces.  I also like to blend traditional textile techniques, such as dye, painting, felting and knitting and apply them in obscure ways to create something that feels new. My work and design process is often driven by how I want the fabrics to reflect the movement of my performer.

I have really enjoyed my industry experiences thus far; working with brands such as Dreaming Eli and NDLQ Millinery, and on set on short film       “Messiah”. These opportunities have shown me how crucial a positive work environment is. I love the unity and collaboration that comes with so many individuals uniting with the common goal of producing a film or fashion collection .
